September 24th 11:00 am - Sathya Sai Baba helping Chennai Water projects
Mr. Stalin said he had met Sri Sathya Sai Baba at Puttaparthi earlier this month to discuss the funding of the project. The Sathya Sai Trust had spent Rs. 200 crore on the Kandaleru–Poondi canal to prevent seepage and caving in of the banks. In January this year, when Sai Baba visited Chennai, Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi had requested assistance to clean up the Cooum.

September 20th 10:00 am - Chitravathi river is filled with water
The rain has been coming down in Puttaparthi for the last week or so. It's not heavy but it was almost coming constantly for the last few days. So the river Chitravathi is filled with water. As you can see in one of the photos the water is flowing over the bridge that connects nearby villages to Puttaparthi.
Today the weather seems to have improved the sun is peeking through the clouds.
Before the rains started the weather seemed very hot. It was like
summer. But now its nice little cold and since the rain has stopped its really pleasant.
September 19th 11:00 am - More Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations pictures
This year even the rain couldn't dampen the excitement of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival celebrations. Its been raining for the last couple of days in Puttaparthi, but rain stopped during the Ganesh Nimarjanam celebrations.

September 17th 7:00 pm - Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations end in Puttaparthi
This evening the Ganesh Chaturthi festival ended in Puttaparthi. Both Swami's students and the residents of Puttaparthi brought their Ganesh idols decorated on to the streets with bhajans, colors and crackers. Student took their beautifully decorated idols into Sai Kulwant Hall for Swami's blessings. While residents outside mandir took their Ganesh idols for Nimarjanam (Immersing idols into the river). After Swami's blessing students took their idols too for nimarjanam. Ending the Ganesh Chaturthi festival in Puttaparthi for this year. We have nearly 25 photos for your viewing pleasure. This afternoon Swami came for a brief visit outside mandir giving all the devotees a very nice darshan.
September 15th 11:00 am - Ganesha Chaturthi in Puttaparthi
This morning as part of Ganesha Chaturthi there were bhajans sung about Lord Ganesha in mandir, and later the bhajans continued. The morning events ended at 10:30 am. The Ganesha in mandir near the main gate was decorated with flowers etc. The whole Ganesha temple near the main gate is decorated with colorful decorations. Even outside mandir every road has a big Ganesha idol sitting in beautifully decorated stages. We will bring the pictures of these later in the day.
September 12th 1:00 pm - International Badminton match at the indoor stadium
Swami went to the indoor stadium in the evening soon after that the matches began. After nearly an hour Swami left indoor stadium and returned back to mandir. There were bhajans in mandir in the evening. And players were presented with cups and had a chance to take pictures with Swami in Sai Kulwant Hall.

September 11th 1:00 pm - International Badminton match in Puttaparthi today
Today there will be an International Badminton match in the indoor stadium. Some of the top Indian players will be participating in the event. Some of the players are Olympic medallist Anup Sridhar, Chetan Anand, Kashyap and Guru Saidutt. They will play for the singles title. National coach and former International Badminton player P. Gopichand will vie for the doubles title.

September 9th 1:30 pm - Devotees from Nellore district do a rally in Puttaparthi
Yesterday evening there was a rally by the Devotees from Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh. They had batches of children performing in dance to different songs. There were 4 batches of children with four different costumes and dances and bhajans performing. It really was nice to see children dancing so beautifully. It was late around 7:30 pm so no pictures because it was dark.
September 5th 1:30 pm - Swami gives discourse as part of the Krishnastami celebrations
Yesterday evening Swami gave discourse as part of the Krishnastami celebrations. Swami talked about Lord Rama in the discourse. Again there was a small rally by the devotees from Nalgonda. They sang bhajans and children were dancing folk dances with small sticks in their hands. While some of the devotees from Nalgonda left puttaparthi. Many are still here.
September 4th 1:30 pm - Krishnastami was celebrated in Prasanthi Nilayam
This morning right before bhajans, students brought animals like cows, deer and a peacock into mandir. Cows were decorated with colorful dress and their horns were all painted. Accompanig them was Sathya Gheeta, swami's new elephant. Which was dressed up in colorful dress. Swami blessed all the animals as part of the Krishnastami celebrations.

September 3rd 9:30 pm - Parthi Yatra by Nalgonda devotees in Prasanthi Nilayam
Devotees from Nalgonda district in Andhra Pradesh are here on Parthi Yatra. Yesterday evening they did a rally singing bhajans and doing dances. It was around 7:30 pm, so sorry about the bad pictures. You can see devotees from Nalgonda in orange scarfs still in Puttaparthi. We don't have the exact numbers, but there are quite a few of them here for the parthi yatra.

September 2nd 7:30 pm - Swami gives discourse this evening in Sai Kulwant hall
Swami complemented the individuals who work in mandir and for the Sri Sathya Sai Trust and those who help run all the seva work that is being done by Swami's organization.
Swami also said that, swami writes cheque for 500 crores on every Monday for the seva work that is being done by the Sri Sathya Sai organization. Some of the seva projects include water project, hospitals etc.
After the discourse Swami presented nearly 150 members of the staff of the organization with watches. All devotees received sweets as prasadam.
The events ended at 6:30 pm. On September 4th Krishnashtami will be celebrated in Puttaparthi.
