October 29: 2:00 pm - Swami came for a visit outside mandir

Today was a dull day both weather wise and news wise in Puttaparthi. But at 10:20 am Swami came for a visit outside mandir and devotees lined up and were rushing to touch the car and get Swami's blessings. This visit was sudden so everyone were caught with a pleasant surprise.

October 28: 7:30 pm - Bala Vikas Past Students Conference

The Program just finished in mandir. Swami gave a discourse this evening and said "God is Truth and Truth is God". Swami said that we should trie to help others, all the time. Even when we cannot atleast pray for them. Swami also said that when all else fails do bhajan and pray to God. And God will help you.

October 28: 6:00 pm - Bala Vikas Past Students Conference

After two days of lull there is another event in Puttaparthi today it's callled Baba Vikas Past Students Conference. The old students who were Bala Vikas are here to participate in the event. More details as they come.

It been cloudy and raining in Puttaparthi for the past two days.

October 27: 11:30 am

Yesterday there were speeches by the distinguished speakers in Puttaparthi as part of the Bala Vikas Guru Conference. After a week of events today its back to normal. But this will not be for long, in a few weeks the Birthday Celebrations are going to begin. But before that there is Diwali on November 1st.

October 26: 12:30 pm Yesterday Swami gave discourse as part of the Bala vikas Guru festival. Two other speakers too Spoke on this ocassion. Today is the final day of the event.

October 25: 11:00 am: SAI Group blood donation drive overshoots expectations

The SAI Group in Oman did a blood donation drive, they were planning to give 80 bottles of blood since it was Swami's 80th birthday. At the end of the day they donated nearly 136 bottles of blood. They are planning to continue to do this next two months. So if you are in the region go and participate.

October 25: 10:30 am : Bala Vikas Guru Conference

Today is a new event in Puttaparthi, it's teachers conference for the bala vikas teachers. So more programs will continue today. Yesterday evening there was a drama in mandir about a devotee of Krishna.

October 24: 11:30 am: Today Morning too there were programs as part of the childrens festival. The morning events finished just now at 11:15 am. There will more prorams in the evening. Today is the last day of the Childrens Festival.

October 23: Yesterday morning Swami gave a discourse as part of the Childrens Festival.

In the evening there were cultural programs by the bala vikas. They performed Dramas and Dance programs. There are approximately 4000 Students here .

October 22: For the next three days it "Sai Childrens Festival" in Prasanthi Nilayam.

Bala Vikas Students from all over india are here to participate in this event. They will be performing cultural programs for the next three days in Prasanthi Nilayam.

October 22: Avatar Declaration Day in Visakhapatnam

Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation on Thursday celebrated Avatar Declaration Day and 80th birth anniversary of Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi. On the occasion, Sri Sathya Sai City Seva Samithi at MVP Colony organised a mahanagar sankeertana, which started from Turner’s Choultry in the afternoon and reached Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar by 6 pm. Simhachalam Samithi and Gajuwaka Samithi also organised the programme. About 2,000 devotees participated.

October 20: Swami is in Puttaparthi now.

Swami came back to Puttaparthi at 5.30 pm this evening from Whitefeild. As Swami entered the mandir the Aarathi was going on. Hundreads of devotees lined the street to get a darshan of Swami. Swami now is in Puttaparthi after a brief one day visit in Whitefeild.

October 20: Swami left for Whitefeild yesterday and is in Whitefeild now

Swami came out for a visit yesterday morning. We thought it was a regular visit. but only later did we find out that Swami has gone to Whitefeild. Swami is still in Whitefeild. We are not sure when Swami will return to Puttaparthi. Keep checking the site for the lastest update.

October 19: Last two days the bhajans were finishing late at around 10.00 and 10.30. but today Swami left early at 9.00 and the bhajans finished at 9.30 like regular time.

October 16: Yesterday as soon as i wrote that it was sunny it started raining. It rained all the way till night. But today is okay, hope it will not rain today too.

In a few days time there is a gathering of Bala Vikas in Puttaparthi.

October 15: We have the pictures of Dasara 2005 in Puttaparthi. You can see the pictures by going here. There was a big crowd for dasara. But the last few days since then have been rainy. Its been raining for two days but today it warm and sun is shining.

October 13: Yesterday evening there was a drama in mandir. The drama is about Surdas. Surdas is a very important person in Indian history. He was a poet, a saint, and a musician, and is equally revered for his accomplishments in all of these areas. Surdas lived in Brij which is the land associated with lord Krishna. He was one of the biggest devotee of Lord Krishna. This event concluded the Dasara Celebrations. Rain was coming down yesterday evening today too its continuing.

October 12: Today morning the Yagnam is still continuing. Swami's elephant Sai Goethe has come to Mandir. Yesterday evening Swami gave discourse. In which Swami talked about an event that happened when Swami went to Rishikash. About a sage who passed away. And the cave he was staying in filled with Vibhuthi. Still today the whole cave is filled with vibhuthi. Recent the followers of the sage visited Swami in Puttaparthi asking for a darshan of their sage. Swami gave them interview and made them Happy. Swami also talked about Lord Krishna in the discourse.

October 11: Today too the Yagnam is continuing in mandir. More and more devotees are coming in each day. Yesterday evening Swami gave discourse in which Swami talked about Ramayana and about sons of Rama, Lav and Kush etc.

October 10: Yesterday morning when Swami came outside it was for Opening of the guest house which is called “Sai Aramam”. It’s a guest house constructed by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department. It has hotel and restaurant facilities, and also has shops for handicrafts etc. It is located a few kilometers from Puttaparthi. But when you are coming to Puttaparthi its on the way. It also has a information center to provide information and other details for the devotees who visit Puttaparthi.

Yesterday evening Swami gave discourse and in the discourse Swami talked the Omni presence of God every were. Swami also told some example for this from the mythological stories.

October 9: Today morning Swami came outside mandir for a visit before the Bhajans started. We got a very good darshan. Swami was looking towards where we were standing so it was really nice surprise visit this morning.

Yesterday evening Swami gave discourse and in the discourse Swami talked about Mahabarat. Swami told the story of son of Arjun (on of the five pandavas). About how he ruled the kingdom and much more.

The Yagnam still continues today.

October 7: Yesterday evening Swami gave discourse, Swami talked about how students were doing such a good seva distributing food and clothes etc. Swami said many of them are sad that they don't have holidays. So Swami said they can go home after Dasara. There was a loud cheer from the students as soon as Swami announced that. After the speech prasadam was distributed to the devotees. It was 6:30 pm by the end of all the events yesterday.

Today morning too the Yagnam still continues and mantras chanting is still going on.

October 6: Dasara Celebrations Today morning the Yagnam started which will continue till the final day of dasara. Swami's elephant Sai Gheetha came to mandir just minutes before. The yagnam which started today will go on until 11 to 12 each day. So you can hear Chanting of Mantras all through the morning. The Yagnam will conclude on the final day with Swami's blessings.

October 4: Today is also the 50th Golden Jubilee anniversary of the Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital. This hospital was built in 1954. The treatment for indoor and outdoor patients is free. Medicines, injections, operations and deliveries are also free.

This hospital built in 1954 increased due to the University Campus and the very large number of devotees coming from far and near, the need was felt for the construction of a new hospital building, equipped with all medical facilities. The foundation of the new hospital building was laid on 23rd November, 1982 and the hospital was inaugurated on Sivaratri Day 29th February 1984. The hospital has arrangements for one hundred beds with an air-conditioned fully equipped operation theatre, blood bank, laboratory, intensive care unit, X-Ray and an eye and dental unit. Well-qualified medical and paramedical staff have been recruited to man the various branches of the hospital.

This hospital has helped so many people, many sick were cured. So many babies were born here in this hospital in the last 50 years. This Hospital has done such a service to Puttaparthi and other nearby villages.

October 4: Today morning the distribution of food and clothes began as part of the 80th birthday celebrations. The students who are here for two months will do seva by going to the near by villages and providing them with food and clothes. Nearly 37 mini trucks and 5 tractors are being used to provide food and clothes to the villages. There could be more we might have missed the count. The students are here for two months until the 80th birthday finishes to do seva.

October 4: Yesterday Solar eclipse took place, but in Puttaparthi it was cloudy so we could not see it. May be this was a metaphor for, When Swami is around no darkness can come around.
