November 27th 12:30 pm - Programs by devotees from overseas.

Yesterday evening Swami came outside mandir for a visit. And soon returned back to mandir. There are not many programs happening in Puttaparthi. The last two days after the birthday there were events by the devotees from overseas. One of them was an orchestra performance and the next day there was a dance program.

November 26th 7:00 pm - I believe it was Sai Baba who saved us that night.

I am also a devotee of Satya Sai Baba. I wear a navratana ring given by him and it has helped me ward off many dangers. You might think it is superstition but it's not just blind faith. There have been several occasions in my life when I have experienced the presence of a Higher Power.

Sometimes in my dreams I see an angel-like figure guiding me on the technical aspect of my music and when I work on it in the morning, it almost always makes my composition better.

The other occasion when I have experienced the presence of a Higher Power was in Dubai a few years ago. My friends and I were driving in a Land Cruiser at about 100 miles an hour when because of a tyre burst our car went out of control.

It rammed into the divider and rolled over several times before coming to a stop. The impact was so strong that no one on the road expected us to survive but we managed to surprise them by coming out with not even a scratch.

I believe it was Sai Baba who saved us that night. The connection became all the more strong when I saw a huge picture of Baba in the lobby of the hospital where we were taken by the police. I don't lose hope in times of adversity for I believe in the role of karma.

November 23rd 8:00 pm - 81st Birthday evening Program.

This evening the programs started at around 4:30 pm. Swami was wearing a yellow dress. The programs again were in the Sri Sathya Sai International Sports Center. Swami this time around didn't sit on the stage. Swami was sitting on the court with the VIP's. First there was a Badminton match between India and Indonesia. In which India won. There was Mr.Gopichand (Indian Badminton Superstar) as a special guest for the event. Then the Harlem Globe trotter played a game. The impressed everyone with their performance. After their performance Swami took pictures with them, then the event ended. Swami returned back to mandir at 6:30 pm, unlike yesterday I didn't get to see the event this time. I had to give my pass to someone else. So I too am enjoying the event like you through pictures. There was live broadcast of the event in Sai Kulwant Hall but it was too busy in Sai Kulwant Hall. Swami keeps doing interesting programs every year for birthdays can't wait for the next year one. Hope you have had as much pleasure and happiness as we had bringing it to you.

November 23rd 4:00 pm - 81st Birthday Programs.

This morning at 8:30 am Sathya Sai Baba made his divine entrance into the Sai Kulwant Hall. Swami was wearing white dress and came in the open roof car so all the devotees in Sai Kulwant Hall got a very good darshan of Swami on his 81st birthday. Swami cut the cakes the devotees brought and met with some VIP. Swami also talked to Dr.Abdul Kalam Indian president. Swami also gave gave discourse for an hour. Dr.Abdul Kalam left Puttaparthi at 9:30 am. The events are going on in Sai Kulwant Hall as i right this. The main gate is full with devotees going and coming from mandir.

November 23rd 10:45 am - 81st Birthday of Bhagawan Sathya Sai Baba.



The crowd has been lining the street to get inside mandir from 3:00 am in the morning. There were lines outside mandir as long as the road could go. The picture above was taken at 8:30 am. It was that busy all the while. Now at 10:30 am its getting a bit easier for devotees to go inside mandir. The Sai Kulwant Hall is filled fully with devotees. Reports about the events from mandir later.

November 22nd 10:30 pm - Sri Sathya Sai International Sports Center was opened today.

Today the programs began at 3:00 pm. Swami and Indian President Abdul Kalam came to the indoor stadium. First Dr.Abdul Kalam inaugurated the museum, which is the colorful red dome that you see. It has all the history of Sathya Sai Higher Learning for the past 25 years. This is the 25th year of the University Convocation so the newly built Indoor stadium was the gift of Swami to the Sathya Sai Higher Learning.

The Indoor Stadium, which will be called as "Sri Sathya Sai International Sports Center", was built in 4 months, which is a remarkable achievement. It was built at a cost of 40 crores which were donated by Mr.Shetty who is a Well know cardiologist from America. The stadium is a start of art sports complex with every imaginable facility available inside it. There are basketball courts, volleyball courts and many more. A new Football court and Running track are also being built outside the stadium.

Swami arrived at the stadium around 3:15 pm and in the golf cart made a round of the indoor stadium blessing all the devotees and the sports athletes who were present. Form sports there were legends like Kapil Dev, Prakash Padukone and Lt Col Rajvardan Singh Rathore. Swami blessed all of them then the Indian and Srilankan Volley Ball teams. And the basketball teams of India and Indonesia and the gymnasts from Greece.

After which Swami went on to the stage and from there the proceedings began. First Indian National Anthem was sung and then Swami said that the University Convocation was open. Mr.Shetty who donated the money for building the stadium spoke and thanked Sathya Sai Baba for giving him this opportunity to do the service. He also talked about his son who is currently doing specialization in cardiology and once he finishes he will come to Swami and ask Swami where Swami wants him to serve. He ended the speech asking Swami to give enough strength so that he and his family could do service to Swami till the end of their life. Then there was a speech by Kapil Dev in which he thanked Swami for giving such a wonderful stadium to Indian sports people. He said that if more such stadium were built in India we would have more players who would compete at world stage. He promised that more players would win medals. Then there was a small video presentation called "Life is a Game". Then the gymnasts from Greece performed for Swami. They did some excellent acrobatics and then ended their event by giving pranams to Swami. As they were living the court an announcement was made that they were asking Swami for the last 10 years for a chance to perform for Swami and Swami said to them that they would get their chance and today was that day. The gymnasts are superstars in international level. They have received medals in gymnastics in Olympics, European games etc.

After that the Volley ball teams took to the court by offering pranams to Swami and the event began. The whole indoor stadium was buzz with excitement. This was no exhibition match they were playing and international match. This was the second match between Indian and srilanka. The crowd was cheering every point. The match ended with India winning the event. But there was no disappointment all of them stood in a line and offered pranams to Swami.

After that the University Convocation began. The University vice chancellor spoke and thanked Swami for this wonderful gift. Then Swami presented students with gold medals for their achievements in the studies. Swami also presented each student with digital camera as gift.

Then the President of India Mr.Abdul Kalam Spoke and he said that when he talked to some of the students from Sri Sathya Sai Higher Learning and asked them what have they learnt that is different from other colleges he said that all the students answered as one that they have learned being a better Human Being. He also asked the students to keep the Prasanthi Nilayam spirit in them alive throughout their lives. While narrating a story he said that Sultan (the Devil) will never come anywhere near Puttaparthi. He also said about a poem in which he said that while earth was rotating around the sun. Sun looked at earth and asked what is that shining thing in earth. Then a soft voice from earth said that it is a light of the soul I am carrying. And the soul was Sathya Sai Baba. Then Swami began the discourse. Swami gave the discourse for 30 minutes and it was full of story of learning the meaning of the words you use. Swami narrated a story about Tenali Raman and how knew about the meaning of the words. Swami then asked the students to be good human beings and ended the speech with saying that don't just listen to the words follow them become good human beings. All the learning will be of no use if you are not a good human being. After Swami's discourse.

There was a performance by the Mandolin Srinivas who was accompanied by Shivamani the percussionist. Srinivas thanked Swami for giving him this opportunity.

After that the event ended the way it began with the Indian national anthem. It was six hours long event. The event ended at 8:00 pm. There were other VIP here for the event, some of them were Governer of Karnataka, Governer of Andhra Pradesh, Cheif Minister of Maharashtra. And the lucky few who went inside the indoor stadium saw a event that was something special. Swami's presence made it even more memorable.

November 22nd 11:30 am - University Convocation and Indoor stadium inauguration today.

The University Convocation will be held in the indoor stadium which will be inagurated today. Since the seating capacity of the stadium is very small. Only a few people are being allowed inside the stadium that too with passes. These passes are worth more than gold today in Puttaparthi. We will be reporting after the event about the proceedings of the University Convocation and Indoor stadium opening.

November 21st 7:30 pm - Its University Convocation tomorrow.

This evening Swami came to Sai Kulwant Hall at 4:00 pm and sat on the veranda for a while and went into mandir. Then the bhajans began and ended with aarathi. There were no programs today. Its getting more and more crowded and tomorrow is the University Convocation and the indoor stadium opening. Many VIP's are arriving tomorrow in Puttaparthi for the events. We will keep you posted.

November 21st 5:30 pm - Indoor Stadium will be inaugurated by President Abdul Kalam.

President Abdul Kalam will inaugurate the Indoor Stadium tomorrow on November 22nd. After that there will sports events from athletes from around the world, there are 150 athletes from around the world here to show off their skill in the divine presence of Sathya Sai Baba. There are few big names from Indian sports scene also participating in this event. There will be a display of gymnastics and basketball etc.

November 20th 8:30 pm - More programs this evening in Puttaparthi.

This evening there were more programs in mandir. There was a musical program with drums. After which the ladies from the Eswaramma trust sang few songs. Then there was a dance program by the students. Then the lights in mandir were switched off and video of Sathya Sai Baba was shown on a big screen. The evening ended with that program and prasadam was distributed. More and more devotees are arriving in Puttaparthi, Its really getting quite busy. And there are still two days more for the big event which is on November 23rd.

November 20th 5:30 pm - Updated with pictures Ladies Day end in Puttaparthi.

This evening there were cutural programs in mandir. There was a dance program by the students, after which there was a muscial performance by the well know classical music singers called Priya sisters. After that the bhajans started. Prasadam was distribted after the event ending the program and the Ladies Day. Next event is on November 22 and its University Convocation. Many Vips are exptected to be here for that event.

November 20th 11:00 am - "Service and Love" theme for 81st Brithday of Sathya Sai Baba.

This year's theme for Swami birthday is "Service and Love". More and more decorations are going on. There are flag posts put up along the main road with colorful flags in different color on top of them. All the autorikshaws in Puttaparthi have big pictures of Sathya Sai Baba with the 81st birthday and the theme "Service and Love" written on them.

This morning Swami came for visit outside mandir at 8:30am and only returned back to mandir at 9:20 am. And soon after that the bhajans finished for the morning. We are expecting some cultural programs in mandir this evening.

November 19th 12:00 pm - Its Ladies Day in Puttaparthi today.

This morning Sathya Sai Baba was accompanied to the Sai Kulwant Hall by a musical band from Anantapur Campus and some girls holding lights in their hands. Swami cut cakes that were brought, and then there was a musical program few songs were sung. After that two ladies gave speeches both of them were members of Sai organization one of them was an international Sai organization member. And after that the events ended with bhajans and aarathi.

November 18th 8:30 pm - Cutural programs this evening in Puttaparthi.

This evening there was a musical program by the devotees from overseas and bhajans after that. It was raining after the bhajans. Tomorrow is Ladies Day in Puttaparthi. Tomorrow programs will begin in the morning at 8:00 am.

November 18th 6:30 pm - Sai Gheeta's New Home was opened by Swami today.

Today after Rathothsavam and the bhajans Swami went to the indoor stadium beside which the new home for Swami's elephant Sai Gheeta was constructed. Swami did the opening and also gave Sai Gheeta some fruits with his own hands. Swami presented the devotees who were present there with clothes.

November 18th 11:30 pm - Rathothsavam in Puttaparthi today.

Today is Rathothsavam in Puttaparthi. This morning Ratham (chariot) was brought to the gopuram gate of Puttaparthi. The Ratham was decorated and idols of Lord Rama, Sita and Laxman were kept in the Ratham. Swami came near to the Ratham at 8:10 am in the mobile chair and blessed the event and after receiving aarathi Swami returned back to mandir. After that the ratham was pulled back to its resting place near Hanuman temple. Ending the Rathothsavam.

November 18th 12:30 pm - Indoor Stadium construction pictures.

This is the final update before the opening of the indoor sadium. It is being built at a cost of 10 crores. It is desinged with state of art facilities. It is being completed in a record time of 120 Days.

November 17th 6:30 pm - Puttaparthi is dressing up for the big event.

Inside mandir the Sai Kulwant Hall and Yajur Mandiram (swami's home) are decorated with small lights that are put up in such a way that they draw the outline of the building with lights, which looks really beautiful. Even the coconut trees in front of the ladies side are decorated with lights. The temple of Lord Vianayaka and other temples are around it are also decorated with lights. It really looks beautiful.

November 17th 11:00 am - Sathya Sai Baba comes for a visit outside mandir.

This morning Swami came for a visit outside mandir as soon as the bhajans began at 9:00 am. And only returned back to mandir at 9:30 am and soon after that the bhajans finished with aarathi.

November 16th 7:00 pm - Only a few days till the 81st birthday of Sathya Sai Baba.

There seems to be hectic activity going around on in Puttaparthi. The indoor stadium is getting its final touches. New roads are being laid at some places. Toilets and other facilities are being made ready for the devotees who will be arriving for this year's 81st birthday of Sathya Sai Baba.

This morning Swami gave away bicycles to some children and then there was a musical program by the students from Anantapur. In the evening there was a musical program after which two bhajans were sung and the events ended with aarathi at 6:00 pm. Soon after that Sathya Sai Baba retired to Yajur Mandiram (swami's home).

November 13th 11:00 pm - Sathya Sai Baba makes a visit outside mandir.

Swami came for a visit outside mandir this morning after the morning bhajans. And returned back to mandir soon after that. Since it was after the bhajans many devotees were waiting beside the road for Sathya Sai Baba's darshan. Which they received when Swami returned.

November 12th 7:30 pm - Akhanda Bhajan finishes in Puttaparthi.

This evening Swami came Sai Kulwant Hall at 4:30 pm and the bhajans were continuing. Swami sat inside the mandir hall. The last bhajan of this Akhanda Bhajan was "Subramanya, Subramanya Shanmukanatha Subramanya" and after that at 6:30 pm Aarathi was sung and Sathya Sai Baba left for Yajur Mandiram (swami's home). Prasadam was distributed after the event. It was lemon rice and ladoos.

This morning the bhajans are continuing. Swami arrived at the Sai Kulwant Hall around 10:00 am and after an hour of listening to the bhajans and giving darshan. Swami retired to Yajur Mandiram (swami's home) at 11:05 am.

November 11th 8:45 pm - Sai Baba in Puttaparthi on Akhanda Bhajan.



This evening at 3:30 pm Sathya Sai Baba came for a visit outside mandir. Swami went to the indoor stadium and presented the workers their with dress and watches for their effort they were putting in to complete the stadium as quickly as possible. Since swami only returned back to mandir at 4:30 pm it looked like everyone in Puttaparthi were lining beside the main road to get good darshan of Swami. Swami gave a good darshan to everyone at 4:30 pm and returned back to mandir. Swami came to the Sai Kulwant Hall at around 5:30 pm and soon after that the Akhanda Bhajan began. Since its customary to begin all the events with prayers to Lord Ganesha today too the first bhajan was "Jai Jai Gajanana Gananatha". Swami stayed till 7:30 pm and left for Yajur Mandiram (swami's home). The bhajans are still continuing. They will go on non stop till tomorrow evening.

November 11th 12:30 pm - Today is Akhanda Bhajan in Puttaparthi.

Today is Akhanda Bhajan in Puttaparthi. The main gate is decorated with Mango and Banana leaves. The Akhanda Bhajan will begin this evening and will go on till tomorrow evening. Hope you are also participating in your own way.

November 10th 1:30 pm - Tomorrow is Akhanda Bhajan in Puttaparthi.

This morning Swami came for a visit outside mandir while the bhajans were going on. And returned back to mandir at 9:45 am. Tomorrow is Akanda Bhajana in Puttaparthi. We have put some greeting online so that you can inform your friends and relatives about the event, so that they too can participate in the Akhanda Bhajans.

November 9th 1:30 pm - Swami came for a visit outside mandir.

Swami didn't come for the morning bhajans today. But around 11:00 am Swami went for the visit of Indoor stadium construction, while going Swami went from inside mandir but while returning Swami came from outside giving us all a very good darshan.

November 7th 5:30 pm - Indoor stadium in Puttaparthi almost near completion.



The indoor stadium is nearing completion, Sathya Sai Baba is visiting the construction site almost daily now. The whole construction is suppose to finish by November 18th. If you look at the above picture there are people working all over the building to finish it as soon as possible. We will hopefully bring the pictures from inside the stadium too.

November 7th 5:15 pm - Sathya Sai Baba visits the Indoor Stadium Construction Site.

Sathya Sai Baba is going daily now to oversee the work at the indoor stadium. We are getting very good darshan everyday. More such visits are expected since the completion of the indoor stadium is only days away. While returning just as Swami's car passed where I was standing, there was a huge roar in happiness, many devotees started clapping. Swami just showed the Abhaya Hastam towards them, they were so thrilled. We were sad that Swami didn't do it on this side of the road. May be tomorrow.

November 7th 12:30 pm - Chief Guest Information for Sathya Sai Baba's birthday.

President A P J Abdul Kalam is likely to participate in the 81st birthday celebrations of Sri Satya Sai Baba at Puttaparthi on November 23. Official sources, however, said that the president's programme was yet to be finalised.

The President would be the chief guest for the annual convocation ceremony of Sri Satya Sai Deemed University on November 22. He will also participate in the birthday celebrations of the Baba at Prasanthi Nilayam on November 23. The President is also likely to inaugurate an indoor stadium constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore.

November 5th 5:50 pm - Sathya Sai Baba visits the Indoor Stadium Construction Site.

For the last few days it was raining in Puttaparthi. But today it was quite sunny until Sathya Sai Baba came for a visit outside mandir. It started raining, it came a bit heavily when swami returned. While returning to mandir Swami went up the museum road near the police station. So people thought swami might have gone that way and started to disperse some even went running inside mandir. But after a few minutes Sathya Sai Baba came back the same way down the museum road near the police station and went back to mandir from the main road. So it was quite confusing and the rain didn't help the matter.

The preparation for the big day are already beginning, there is quite a big police presence in Puttaparthi. And there are traffic police on the roads already.

November 1st 5:00 pm - Sai Baba returning from a visit to the Indoor Stadium Construction Site.



Today evening at 3:20 pm Sathya Sai Baba came for a visit outside mandir, it was raining a bit. Swami's car went quite fast. We couldn't get a video but got a good darshan and i saw something interesting, a family who had just arrived in Puttaparthi, they still had their luggage in their hands. And they got swami darshan because of this visit, they were so thrilled. It has to be very special feeling to get a darshan of Sathya Sai Baba even before entering mandir.

Swami came for a visit outside mandir yesterday evening, but the car went quite fast, so we could get any pictures. Even while returning Swami car went quite fast. The volunteers had hard time keeping up with the car. It was unusual to see the car go this fast.
