This picture was taken this evening after the bhajans. This is the last picture of 2006 from puttaparthi from us. Wishing you all a happy and peacful New Year 2007. Hopefully those who have not had a chance to come to Puttaparthi this last year will get their wishes granted to visit Puttaparthi and have a wonderful Darshan of Swami in the year 2007, and those who did hopefully will get another chance to see Swami this coming year.

This morning the bhajans continued till 10:15 am 45 minutes longer than usual. The last day of the year we get an extra 40 minutes of bhajans and darshan of Swami, what more could we ask to end this year in a happy way.

Athi Rudra Maha Yajna will take place in Chennai for 12 days starting from January 19 2007
Program schedule:
Yagna starts on 19th Jan 2007 with Kalasha Sthapana.
Yagna End : 30th or 31st of Jan 2007. [book for 31st, You get one more day to enjoy Swami].
Reliable resource from Parthi confirmed that Swami will be here on 18th itself. Whole Tamilnadu State is praying for the same. The ARMY program would be the same as happened in parthi.

December 28th 10:00 am - Interfaith Youth United In Service For Peace .
People from several faiths joined together to give those less fortunate a warm holiday meal.
Dr. Sunny Anand with Sai Baba Center says, "For people of different communities and faiths to come together and do it as one brotherhood of mankind, serving our own brothers and sisters, I think that carries a message of healing that can bring peace to the entire world."
It was the first holiday feast these faith communities have put on together. The organization is considering making it an annual event.

December 26th 1:30 pm - Christmas Celebrations in Puttaparthi.
In the morning Swami came at 8:30 am for the morning program. Swami cut few cakes that were brought by the devotees. Swami then did rounds in the wheel chair giving all the devotees a very good darshan. The morning program lasted till 11:00 am when Swami left for Yajur Mandiram (swami's home) after the Aarathi.
In the evening there were more events as part of the Christmas celebrations. Swami gave a discourse and also presented a chain to a devotee who gave a speech. With the bhajans and the aarathi, the Christmas celebrations ended in Puttaparthi. This year there were quite a few devotees here from overseas to participate in the celebrations.
The next event in Puttaparthi is New Year, which is only few days away.

December 25th 10:30 pm - Christmas eve Celebrations in Puttaparthi.
Yesterday evening there was a muscial program by the devotees from overseas. They performed some songs for Swami. The whole Sai Kulwant Hall was decorated beautifully with ornaments. There was a beautiful christmas tree on the veranda where Swami sits to watch the proceedings. After the event Swami presented two devotees with clothes and prasadam was distributed to all the devotees. Prasadam was small fruits called "Ranikay". As Swami was getting into the car Swami blessed all the devotees with his both hands.

December 24th 10:30 am - Final preparations for Christmas are being done in Puttaparthi.
All the Christmas Decorations are up and the main gate is also being decorated with thoranams. The overseas devotees are making their final practices of carol singing. Puttaparthi is buzzing with devotees from overseas.

December 24th 10:30 am - Indian Railway Minister in Puttaparthi for Swami's darshan.
Indian Railway Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav was here in Puttaparthi Yesterday afternoon for Swami's darshan. He came around 2:30 pm and after receiving Swami's blessings he left Puttaparthi at around 5:30 pm.
December 22nd 3:30 pm - The Ranji Cricket team is here in Puttaparthi for Swami's darshan.
The Indian Ranji Cricket team is here in Puttaparthi for Sathya Sai Baba's darshan. Mr.Venkatesh Prasad and Mr.Joshi who played for the Indian Cricket team are also here with the team. They are having Swami's darshan as i am writing this.

December 21st 12:30 pm - Preparations for Christmas celebrations are going on in Puttaparthi
The morning in Puttaparthi are getting very cold. But the days are quite warm. The overseas devotees are busy preparing for the Carol singing for Christmas. They are having practices morning and evening everyday. They will get a chance to get a very good darshan and to perform in front of Sathya Sai Baba on the Christmas day. We have added four Christmas greeting on the site we will add more soon.

December 18th 8:00 pm - Sathya Sai Baba will participate in Athi Rudra Maha Yagam in Chennai.
Sri Sathya Sai Baba will participate in the Athi Rudra Maha Yagam for goodness and world peace, scheduled to take place here for 12 days from January 19.
The yagam, organised by Sai Youth of Tamil Nadu, will be performed by 140 Ritviks (those qualified to perform the yagam) in 11 'homa kundams'.
A Sai Youth release said here today that the Mahayagam would commence from January 19 afternoon. From the second day onwards, chanting of Rudram and homams would be conducted by the Ritviks. Linga abhishekam would also take place on the same day.
Thousands of Sai Youths trained at various Sai Samithis for the last two months would join the Ritviks in chanting Rudram (matras praising Lord Shiva), the release added. (Our Correspondent)

December 18th 12:30 pm - This morning in Puttaparthi.
This morning Swami came for darshan at 7:00 am. There was a VIP waiting for Swami's darshan. She is an official at the United Nations. While the bhajans were going on the gates were closed saying Swami was coming outside mandir, but Swami didn't come outside.

December 13th 12:30 pm - He got the blessings of Sri Satya Sai Baba as an actor in his childhood
When I was 7-8 years old, all our school children had got a chance to perform a drama 'Lava Kusa'. Of the 14 characters, mine was a character of 'Muni Kumarudu' (son of a sage) called Nimi. Satya Sai Baba came to us, took me into his lap and presented me a golden ring by creating it from thin air. My theatre life began like that.

December 11th 1:30 pm - Sai Baba came for a visit outside mandir this morning
The morning Swami came for a visit outside mandir after the bhajans. Swami returned back to mandir at 10:35 am. Many devotees were lining up the street for Swami's return back to mandir and many of them got a very good darshan. Since Swami's car was moving very slowly many devotees got very nice darshan.
December 7th 10:30 am - Swami came for surprising visit outside mandir this morning
This morning Swami made a surprising visit outside mandir. Swami came for a visit at 7:15 am in the morning. Many devotees were going for the morning darshan so it was really a pleasant surprise for them to see Swami outside mandir. Many devotees got good darshan up close as Swami went by slowly in the car, because it was this early it wasn't that crowded so all the people who were outside mandir at that time got good darshan. Swami returned back to mandir at 7:30 am.
December 5th 6:30 pm - Parthi Yatra continues in Puttaparthi.
This evening there were more events as part of the parthi yatra by the devotees from Srikakulam District in Andhra Pradesh. They performed some of the dances they did in the rally yesterday for Swami this evening in Sai Kulwant Hall. After which they sang few bhajans, they are really good at writing their own bhajans. They are only in Telugu otherwise you could all have seen how good they are. Then Swami gave a discourse, Swami was speaking in Telugu only for them, and there was no translation in English by Mr. Anil Kumar. Swami said that these devotees were dedicated and their devotion was very divine and the seva they were doing was really nice. After the discourse there was an announcement that prasadam will be served for all those devotees in parthi Yatra. The devotees from Srikakulam were more than thrilled to get such an opportunity to perform for Swami. There were no bhajans this evening in Puttaparthi.
There was "Parthi Yatra" in Puttaparthi yesterday evening after the bhajans. Devotees from Srikakulam District did a rally with colorful dance and bhajans and all kinds of costumes etc. There were nearly 32 events. And more than 3000 people took part in the rally. It took more than an hour to go from one side of Puttaparthi to the other side. The rally was colour full and full of enthusiasm. There were even fire crackers in the event. This event is becoming a regular one every year. And it seems to be getting bigger and bigger too. The only small problem was they did it in the evening. So the picture were we took were not that good.

December 3rd 6:30 pm - Sathya Sai Baba's 81st Birthday program on Doordarshan tv channel
There will be a telecast of Sathya Sai Baba's 81st birthday events on Doordarshan at 10:30 pm this evening. You can see it on DD8 or DD Sapthagiri. It will be a 40 minutes program and will have the events from the Sri Sathya Sai International Sports Center opening too.
December 3rd 12:30 pm - Parthi Yatra in Puttaparthi.
Yesterday there was Parthi Yatra in Puttaparthi. Devotees from the interior of Andhra Pradesh took out a small rally singing bhajans. All of them were wearing orange scarfs. They are here in Puttaparthi for Sathya Sai Baba's darshan. There are still in Puttaparthi today too so Puttaparthi is buzzing with devotees again.
