August 28th 5:30 pm - Devotee passes away in the divine presense of our Bhagawan
The devotee we mentioned in yesterday's news has passed away. A former managing director of Sundaram Finance, Raman (76) had gone to Puttaparthi for a darshan of Sai Baba when he collapsed. He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead, company sources said. Let us all pray for him and his family.

August 27th 5:30 pm - Onam celebrations in Prasanthi Nilayam
This morning the onam celebrations began with the arrival of our beloved Swami into the Sai Kulwant Hall. Swami was welcomed by a band and many devotees from kerala in beautiful costumes. As soon as Swami reached the veranda one of the VIPs had some health problems. Swami offered him water and Vibhuthi. And the devotee was taken in stretcher. There were bhajans and aarathi after that all the programs were canceled. But there will be programs in the evening.
Yesterday evening there was a musical program by the devotees from kerala. It was nearly a 3 hour program filled with wonderful musical and classical songs. After the event Swami presented all the participants with clothes. Swami also presented on of the performers who was visually blind with a gold chain for his musical performance.

August 25th 5:30 pm - Onam celebrations begin in Prasanthi Nilayam
This evening there were cutural programs by the devotees from Kerala in beautiful costumes in mandir. Many devotees are here in Puttaparthi for the Onam celebrations which is on August 27th. There will be more programs in mandir in the coming few days. Many more devotees are expected to come here for the event.
August 24th 2:00 pm - Vara Lakshmi Vratham was conducted this morning in Prasanthi Nilayam
This morning the devotees who registered for the Vara Lakshmi Vratham were all wearing the same saris and sat in rows in the Sai Kulwant Hall. By our rough estimates they were nearly 3000 devotees performing the pooja.
In Swami's presence the event began. And the devotees started performing the vratham with the material that were given to them. After a while Swami left the Sai Kulwant Hall for the book stall where Swami gave a discourse to small number of devotees who were gathered there.
Swami returned back to Sai Kulwant Hall and the 2 hour long Vara Lakshmi Vratham ended with bhajans.
August 22nd 5:00 pm - Surprise Discourse in Prasanthi Nilayam this morning
This morning all the devotees in Sai Kulwant Hall had a very nice surprise. Swami gave a discourse which was a surprise because there were no event happening today.
Few days back many devotees from Tamilnadu were here for Swami's darshan.
Day after tomorrow is the Vara Lakshmi Vratham in Puttaparthi. Devotees who have registered in advance will get to perform the Vara Lakshmi Vratham in the Divine presence of our beloved Sathya Sai Baba.
August 14th 1:00 pm - Programs everyday in Prasanthi Nilayam
Sorry we couldn't bring you much news in the past few days. But there are musical programs going on every other day in Prasanthi Nilayam. During the evening bhajans there are musical programs in the evening by the devotees from overseas. Swami blesses each group and give them permission to perform. So musical programs every other day. We will be back in Puttaparthi soon, then we will get you news and information with many more details.
August 3rd 3:00 pm - World Youth Conference in Prasanthi Nilayam
World Youth Conference was held in Prasanthi Nilayam during the Guru Poornima Celebrations. Many youth from all over the world participated in the event. There were speeches by some very special guests during the conference. Swami also gave a discourse on the ocassion. The World Youth Conference was on July 26th to 28th.

August 2nd 10:00 am - Ashadi Ekadasi in Prasanthi Nilayam
Here are some pictures from the Ashadi Ekadasi which happened on 26th. There were some cultural programs by the devotees where children performed some wonderful dances.

August 1st 9:00 am - Sathya Sai Baba gives new Elephant new name
During the discourse of Guru Poornima Swami gave the new Elephant new name. Now the elephant is called "Sathya Gheeta". One of the Vip's for Guru Poornima was Former Prime Minister Mr.Deva Gowda who was here for Swami's blessings and to be present during the event.
